Start your own initiative. EsF strongly believes in the social mission of the Montessori movement. When Montessori principles are applied in the wider context of society, their possibilities are vast an encompassing. We encourage you to explore your own context and investigate the challenges and needs in your environment. How could Montessori principles be applied to address them? Change can start small and around the corner, sometimes all it takes is to go out and take on the challenge. To gain a deep understanding of the Montessori principles before you start the endeavor of establishing an initiative, you may consider attending several events or follow an AMI course.

If you already have a plan for an initiative, please reach out to us to share your plan. EsF has a strong and committed global network and we are happy to facilitate connections within this network to support you in the development of your initiative.

Engage with the EsF community through Events and Assemblies. To carry out the broader social mission of the Montessori movement and to encourage others to do the same, we regularly organize Events and Assemblies in which participants get the chance to deepen their understanding of human development, by revisiting Montessori principles and practices from the perspective of society at large. These events are a great way to engage with the EsF community and may inspire you to become involved or start your own initiative.

Join EsF Virtual Network. A strong network can be a very powerful support system. If you would like to connect to like-minded people, share your thoughts, get inspired, or ask for feedback, you can join the EsF Virtual Network. This platform will connect you to EsF community members from all over the world.

Raise awareness

A significant part of EsF’s work is focused on outreach and capacity building. This entails building a network, connecting Montessori teachers, advocates, students, schools and organisations with communities, social entrepreneurs, local officials and policy makers to increase the visibility and credibility of Montessori education. If you have a social network that could support EsF in this effort, please fill out the contact form.

Become a partner

Do you run an initiative that you think could benefit from the application of Montessori principles? Or do you work for an organisation that would like to promote the use of Montessori principles in under-resourced contexts? Please get in touch with us. We look to work with like-minded organisations with a similar approach and mission and we are open to explore opportunities for collaboration that fit our mission and capacity.

Give your time and expertise

EsF believes in the power of building local capacity and expertise. Local actors are the experts of their context, they know the language, needs and culture, and are therefore key to an effective and sustainable initiative. EsF aims to build strong and independent local networks and tries to limit dependency on external input. However well intended, EsF does generally not promote on-site volunteer positions for people from abroad, unless the aim of the external expert is to contribute to building local capacity, for example training or mentorship in countries that do not yet offer AMI training.

EsF does appreciate offers of individuals that would like to volunteer in other areas. If you are interested in creating content, helping during events, promoting the work of EsF or raising funds, or if you have talents or expertise that you think could support EsF in their work, please fill out the contact form.
