Torres Strait Initiative - Working with Indigenous Communities in Australia

Julia Hilson, AMI 0-3 Trainer, and Michelle Martin, AMI 3-6 Directress, present on the Torres Strait Initiative – Working With Indigenous Communities in Australia. They dicuss the impact Montessori education has made on the community and the challenges they have faced in the remoteness of the community and in affecting their community's perspectives. The first operating Montessori programme for this region commenced in late January 2009. The initiative was the result of a joint venture involving Montessori Children’s Foundation (MCF) and Tagai State College (Tagai).
