EsF Workshop Series: Empathic, Nonviolent Communication in Montessori Communities

We are delighted to announce EsF's Workshop Series on Empathic, Nonviolent Communication in Montessori Communities! The two-part workshop series will be presented by Nati Beltrán on Saturday, March 29thand Saturday, April 26th. The workshops will explore how Nonviolent Communication (NVC) can enhance Montessori practice at both the classroom and community levels.

This workshop series is designed for Montessori practitioners and advocates seeking to enrich their practice through deeper, more effective communication. Rooted in Montessori principles, this approach supports peaceful conflict resolution, social harmony, and respectful interactions with both children and adults.

Each 90-minute session will include presentations, small-group practice, and hands-on exercises, ensuring that participants leave with practical, actionable tools to integrate into their daily interactions with children, colleagues, and parents.

Session 1: March 29th

We will introduce a practical four-step framework for empathic communication that fosters stronger relationships. Special emphasis will be placed on developing deep observation skills and focusing on universal human needs and emotions. You’ll learn practical empathic listening techniques that you can apply immediately, helping to transform tensions and disagreements into meaningful connection.

Between Sessions

Participants will be given ideas about how to implement empathic listening in their environment and questions to reflect on their experiences through a deeper way to observe. This real-world practice will provide valuable insights to bring into the second session.

Session 2: April 26th

Building upon the foundations of the first session, this workshop will offer space to share experiences, address challenges, and further develop communication skills through collaborative reflection and guided practice.

When: Saturday, March 29th and Saturday, April 26th
Time:
4:00pm – 5:30pm Central European Time (Convert to your own timezone here).
