Uma Ramani presented Montessori’s work in India in its historical context. She traced the development of the Montessori movement in India following Montessori’s arrive in Adyar in 1939 at the invitation of the Theosophical Society. Uma also spoke about the involvement of Mario Montessori and Albert Joosten in promoting the movement in India and inspired participants to consider how to support future development.
