Dr Prithika Chary, neurologist and neurosurgeon, presented on the development of the brain from 0-5 years. She described how the environment can support neural growth and how issues such as neglect present obstacles to healthy brain development. Dr.Chary demonstrated that Montessori principles such as repetition, movement and choice were significant for human development, particularly in the early childhood years.
