The Assembly will be held in Missoula, Montana from 22 July - 2 August 2020.

Leaders and educators from native communities will inform and inspire with the deep work that is underway to base Indigenous Education on immersion in Native language and culture. Montessori leaders will explore the universality of Montessori principles that support children and families across the globe, across communities.  The 30-year anniversary of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child as well as the UN Declaration of the Rights of Indigenous Communities will launch discussions and readings.

We will feature programmes in the region and around the world, who are bringing Montessori principles into programmes in native communities, including nomadic communities in Kenya, the Inuit community in Pond Inlet and Hawaiian indigenous education. Within these communities, Montessori education has been embraced because of its alignment to local values, with hands-on learning, observation and self-direction at its core.
